This article contains the necessary information to perform a correct installation of Visure Contributor.
Visure Contributor is a fully web-based application that allows internal and external stakeholders to participate in your team’s review process.
Visure Contributor shares the same database as Visure Requirements ALM Platform, which means that you can display the same or restricted information in the Contributor. Being able to restrict the information that you want to share in the Contributor is particularly helpful when you want to create an efficient review process with stakeholders that are outside your organization. Customers’ requirements reviews are particularly easy with Visure Contributor as you can decide to share only the customer’s requirements from your database and to give your customer only restricted user rights.
The installation process is shown in the following video:
And the full installation guide is attached.
Installation Instructions
- Download Visure Contributor installer.
- Run the installer with a Windows Administrator account
- Follow the prompts to install Visure Contributor:
Carefully read the EULA and accept it if you agree with the terms:
Choose the installation folder:
Select installation type:
- Web Site will create the Visure Authoring website in IIS on the selected port. Select the public domain of the server, e.g., visuresolutions.com, or the server’s name e.g. VISURE-SERVER.
- Web Application will create a new application in an existing Web Site. The application will be accessible via the existing website, port, and the selected Alias.
The server name or domain will be extracted automatically from the IIS selected Web Site. If the domain is not the appropriate one, you will be able to modify it in the next step of the installation process.
The Public URL displays an automatically generated URL based on the previous step. In this step, you will be able to manually change the server name or domain with the correct one, if necessary.
Select the Visure Server and connection. The Visure Contributor installation allows you to manually enter the name of any of the connections available in the Visure Requirements ALM 6 Server.
This information may be entered manually after the installation in the “RPCConnection” tag in the appsetting.json file, located in the installation folder, typically “C:\inetpub\Visure Authoring 6”.
You will need administration rights to update this file. The appsettings.json file should look similar to
"Database": {
"RPCServer": "VISURE-SERVER",
"RPCPort": 9090,
"RPCConnection": "Test Connection"
},
